Case Studies Airline Enhances Performance Via Financial Data Warehouse, Customized OLAP TrainingStonebridge was selected by one of the world’s largest airlines to help it create the enterprise OLAP deployment strategy for its Revenue Management, Capacity Planning, and Operations Planning and Performance business units. Our fundamental role in the project was to lead the overall data warehousing and OLAP efforts and collaborate closely with the client’s internal IT organization to identify, rationalize, and, where possible, consolidate development efforts around multiple existing and planned OLAP initiatives. In the project’s first phase, Stonebridge provided the business intelligence expertise to help develop the foundational framework for the enterprise strategy by defining the technical architecture and OLAP standards and procedures. In the second phase, we worked directly with individual business units to design and develop multidimensional “cubes” built on Cognos PowerPlay business intelligence software for in-depth analysis and custom reporting. The client engaged Stonebridge to provide custom-developed OLAP training to the airline’s entire IT department. |
