TULSA, Okla., August 10, 2009 – Casino gaming operators and marketers could take greater advantage of player data to increase player loyalty, operational efficiency and ultimately casino profitability, according to a presentation today by Stonebridge at the 15th Annual Conference and Tradeshow of the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association (OIGA).
Stonebridge’s Steve Molsberry, director of the company’s business intelligence consulting practice, conducted a workshop entitled “Strategies and Technologies for Improving Operational Efficiency.” In his presentation Molsberry demonstrated how performance management technologies can enable casinos to enhance player relationships, identify and market directly to the most profitable players, and improve other operational aspects of the gaming business.
“You need to capture all the information you can, including data from third parties and your competitors, in order to get the data required to truly measure your performance,” Molsberry said. He went on to point out, “And that’s only part of the challenge. You also need to get the information organized so that it can be easily delivered to marketing and other decision makers across the casino.”
The OIGA conference, which runs through August 9-11, is being held at the Tulsa Convention Center and is expected to draw more than 2500 attendees, including tribal leaders, casino managers, gaming employees, regulators and vendors.
Molsberry’s presentation zeroed in on three areas in the gaming industry – player relationship management, proactive marketing program optimization, and department-level operations optimization – as prime targets for improvement using reporting and analytical technologies such as balanced scorecards and KPI (key performance indicator) dashboards.
